Yom Kippur -the Day of Atonement Lev 23:27 “Also the tenth day of this seventh month shall be the Day of Atonement. It shall be a holy convocation for you; you shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire to the Lord.

This day is a very solemn day; on that day, according to scriptures atonement was made for all of Israel’s iniquities, transgressions and sins.

In this day in Judaism everybody goes to the Synagogue and fast and prays prayers of repentance and believes the God will hear their prayers.

Tradition said if you fast and go to prayers all day God will write your name in the book of the living and will spare your life. People will bless one another: one and other will be May the Lord your God will sign and write your name in the book of the Living.

In Lev 16 we read a full detail description of the duties for the High priest in Yom Kippur, and without this chapter will be impossible to understand the book of Hebrews which declares Yeshua as the High Priest of our life and how he and His blood the atonement for our lives is.
